Where Anonima spent her youth.

Where Anonima spent most of her life.

Where Anonima has traveled.

The first time Anonima got in a car was when my cousin invited us to his house for a New Years Eve party. The 5 of us piled into a tiny Red Mini, Anonima included, riding shotgun on my lap. The drool started almost immediately, hadn't even made it on to the packed road yet. She and I didn't know what was happening, her tongue licking the air, her face in abject discomfort. The stop and go traffic of Mexico City only made it worse. The towel I had brought to keep her hair under control was now soaked through to my pants, so I opened the window even though the Mexico City air was thick in humidity and smog to let some air in and she took the opportunity to claw her way to the opening and projectile vomit on to the car next to us.

Anonima has done a lot of traveling, and when she's not flying to exotic locations she is enjoying a long adventure walk in whatever city she is in. The first time she visited New York City, she took me on an epic 10 hour walk from Gowanus, Brooklyn to the Bow Bridge in Central Park where we shared a romantic hot dog. She’s been in the Black Forest, running around in its snowy hills. In all of the neighborhoods of Berlin, peed and pooped on all the parks. She was also attacked by an off-leash Rottweiler in Prora, the deserted resort city built by Nazis. She's been on 5 plane rides and crossed America by car from Manhattan to Friday Harbor. A 5 day car ride that took her through a snowstorm in the Badlands.

More than anything Anonima loves exploring. In the morning as we walk down the driveway I’ll ask her which way she wants to go and after careful consideration for the weather and her level of hunger she will direct me she most finds suitable. One time while living in New York my mother took Anonima for a walk and she was promptly taken to places my mother had never been before and when the time came to go home my mother just told Anonima “ok, take me home” and they made their way back to our apartment in Bushwick. She’s always known exactly where to get treats too, she knows where her vet's office is, which liquor stores give treats to pets and most important of all, where the closest pet store is.
After so many years of traveling, and peeing on national landmarks she finally learned to love car rides when we went to San Francisco by driving up the Pacific Coast Highway. It only took her 11 years after her first car ride in Mexico City. Anonima finally learned that sticking your head out the window is the best way to get all the scents of the ocean in to tickle your brain. She now loves all car rides and can’t wait to go on her next adventure.
